Jackson loves to "help" me in the kitchen. He especially enjoyed making an Eagle Brand lime pie. He shared with me, Maggie, and Brady. What a good sharer! I have to hide the mixer from him on the top shelf of the pantry. If he finds it, it becomes his own personal car. He pushes it all over the house making car noises and crashes it into everything. He is too funny!

First Run-in with the Law
Jackson had his first run-in with the law yesterday at Mom and Dad's. He ran in my parent's bedroom, grabbed the phone, and promptly dialed 911. They called right back and Mom told them what had happened. Then the cops showed up. Mom had taken Jack to the pool at the end of the block so they weren't even home. Dad called her and put her on the phone with the officer. She was on her way home anyway. Jack walked right up to the officer and he gave him a sticker. What a stinker!

Last Day of VBS
Jack enjoyed the last day of VBS and was very excited to see Daddy, who came for a visit on his lunch break. Jack came in the auditorium with all the big kids for the closing songs. The wagon ride was the highlight of the morning. He was exhausted, but had a great time.
To close out VBS tonight we had a carnival complete with snow cones, popcorn, hot dogs, chips, and cookies. Jack got in the bounce house with Madison and had a blast. I was just glad he didn't puke on her. He also loved throwing bean bags, playing with the ducks in the pool, and throwing hula hoops. The older kids all got on stage and sang the songs they learned in VBS. It was fun watching all my friends' kiddos sing and act silly. There were several pictures of Jack in the VBS video so that was fun to see. I'm not sure who is more tired, but we had a lot of fun at VBS!

Cousin Matt
Matt's band Emery was in town last night so Adam and I went to see them play. It was so much fun. They played really well and it was fun to see Matt jump around and swing his guitar. It feels like just yesterday he was learning to play Hootie and the Blowfish and playing it over and over all summer. The band is really good! His friends are really nice too! We got to get on their tour bus and see how 12 plus band members travel in style after the show. I was feeling left out that even Meme has been on the tour bus. I wonder what she would have said at the state of the bus last night. "Um um um" with a head shake or maybe a "Matt Carter!" Before the show, Mama, Jack, Matt, Adam and I went out to eat at Chuys Mexican restaurant. Jack was in rare form showing off for Matt. He kept dancing in his high chair to make him laugh. He loved Matt! He let him haul him all around and didn't get scared at all. It was a lot of fun and it was great to see Matt and the gang!
Macaroni and Cheese
"WOW"
Signing and saying "finished"
Macaroni and cheese is so yummy! Jack's favorite food right now is macaroni and cheese! He would eat is everyday if we would let him. He is learning how to feed himself with a spoon. He tries a few scoops and then shovels in the food. No wasting time for him. We usually have this meal before bathtime. I wonder why...

Jackson enjoyed his second day of VBS today. He cried for the first time when I left him in the nursery. I made the mistake of going back in to get my water bottle and he became very upset. He has always been fine and not cared at all when I left. He got over it as soon as I left and enjoyed his morning. We'll see if this is going to be a trend or an isolated incident. The kids in his class sang songs, played with toys and ate cookies. Jack is cool being anywhere where cookies are involved. I was group guide for the 3 year old group with a couple of my friends and their daughters. We only have 8 kiddos in our group so it going well. A couple of years ago we had 16 3 year olds- aghh! Jack is so wiped out that he should take a nice long nap. He slept for three hours yesterday when we got home. The last day of VBS is tomorrow and we have a carnival tomorrow night. It should be crazy and fun.

Sick :(
So apparently the fever was not due to his shot and molars. Jack has a yucky virus, similar to Hand Foot & Mouth. He has horrible ulcers all in his throat and is miserable. He is so pathetic! He doesn't want to be held, but then cries harder when you put him down. He has somewhat enjoyed watching Sesame Street and Baby Mozart and walking around the mall. He is okay if he is distracted. He has started trying to do the motions to Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and touches his knees over and over for each part. He is a cutie even when he is sick! He finally took a nap for his Ba (Grandpa) yesterday while I went to see clients. (He was up and down Saturday and Sunday night and wouldn't nap on Sunday.) He only woke up twice last night and napped twice today. He is finally eating and drinking more too. He is on the mend and we are thankful for his health. He has only had one prior ear infection and a slight fever when he was teething so we have been blessed. I am sure this number would have at least tripled if we would have had to put him in daycare. Thank you Grandpa!!!

Father's Day Weekend
Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day at Mom and Dads' house. Beau and the girls came over and Beau grilled some awesome ribs and chicken on the new grill we all gave Dad for Father's Day. Adam and Beau sweat off about 10 pounds putting the grill together, but it was worth it! It gave Adam an excuse to eat his weight in meat:) Jackson was running a fever due to his MMR immunization and the appearance of all 4 of his molars. He was a trooper and still managed to have some fun and enjoy some fruit and Mom's banana cream pie. Yummy!
